TEETH WHITENING COORPAROO & ELANORA

Teeth Whitening

Give yourself the dazzling white smile you want, with Complete Dental’s professional teeth whitening options.

A vibrant smile is a part of a happy, healthy mouth. Everyday factors like coffee and tea and the ageing process can contribute to the gradual staining of the teeth, resulting in a dull, worn-out look.

The safest and most effective way to bring back the brightness of your teeth is with teeth whitening at our Coorparoo or Elanora clinic. At Complete Dental, we offer two options to keep you smiling bright.

What is Zoom! Teeth Whitening?

Zoom! In-office whitening is a popular and highly effective way to give you dramatically whiter teeth in as little as one hour.

Using light technology with a hydrogen peroxide formula, Zoom! Whitening works to lift stains and discolouration of the teeth, leaving them whiter and brighter.

How does Zoom! Teeth whitening work?

Zoom! Whitening uses a scientifically formulated, pH balanced hydrogen peroxide as its key whitening agent. Your dentist will protect the areas of the mouth and lips that can be sensitive to teeth whitening to ensure that only the teeth are exposed.

Once applied, the Zoom! Whitening gel is activated by a specially designed whitening lamp, enabling it to penetrate the teeth to eliminate and break-up staining and discolouration.

Zoom! Whitening is so successful because it penetrates the enamel (the outside layer of the teeth) so effectively. As the hydrogen peroxide gel breaks down, oxygen can enter the enamel and dentin layers of the tooth. The bleach is able to whiten the stained substances, without damaging the tooth.

Following a strengthening fluoride treatment to conclude the treatment, the teeth can be up to ten shades whiter and can even continue to whiten over the first few days post-treatment.

Is Zoom! Teeth whitening safe?

Many patients that desire a white smile are concerned with the effects of bleaching their teeth. Having your teeth professionally whitened is undoubtedly the safest way to whiten your teeth, as it ensures the correct strength for your teeth and for your desired outcome.

Legitimate teeth whitening products and techniques have been worked on and improved by dentists for many years, resulting in teeth whitening treatments that are safe and that do not damage the teeth.

Patients may experience some sensitivity during or following a teeth whitening treatment and automatically associate it with damage to the tooth. As the bleach opens the internal channels of the tooth (allowing it to penetrate the surface and whiten), it can cause some sensitivity, similar to that which you might experience when eating something cold. Teeth sensitivity after whitening is usually brief, and should subside within 24 hours.

How long does Zoom! Teeth whitening last?

Zoom! Whitening results can vary from person to person, depending on the extent of the staining to the teeth and their composition. Most patients will find that their results last over six months before needing a touch-up, or a touch-up kit to return them to their original whiteness.

What is a take-home teeth whitening kit from the dentist?

A take-home teeth whitening kit is suitable for patients that want to gradually whiten their teeth from the comfort of their own home, in their own time. Your dentist will custom-make a whitening tray to mould to your teeth, with room for the whitening gel. The result is a gradual, yet noticeable change in the shade of your teeth.

At Complete Dental in Coorparoo & Elanora, we provide dentist-only prescription strength whitening gel. It is recommended that the custom trays are worn for 30 minutes each day, for approximately two weeks.

Like other whitening treatments, the best results are maintained by regular maintenance approximately every six months.
